Bericht über dental prophylaxis workshop

I had a wonderful time visiting the renovated dental department at scudder memorial hospital  ranipet where a two day workshop {24 and 25 may 2010} on PROPHYLAXIS CONCEPTS AND TEAM TRAINING was arranged by TRACEY LENNEMANN in coordination with dentists for India and cccyc Bangalore. It was an excellent opportunity for all teams from the eight dental stations to meet, learn together and share their experiences . 

Dentists, hygienists and dental nurses from five dental stations were involved and they were taught the importance of recognition and prevention of gum disease apart from deeper concepts on progression of periodontitis and usage of ultrasonics. they were also taught how to motivate patients to undergo treatment using the tell, show ,do concept! 

The first day  Tracey stressed on the basics of periodontics with audiovisual aids and demonstrated using models .The participants were given flip charts,educational material,oral hygiene aids to make them familiar with what she was training them with.

 The participants workrd on each other putting into practice what they learnt and the second day worked on patients and knh sponsored children.Feedback forms were distributed and personal attention was given to each ones needs.

They were awarded certificates of participation and left feeling more encouraged, confident to give the best to our children and other community people!
